Cordell W. Holloway
Cordell joined the Ohio Legal Group as an associate attorney, practicing in the areas of Family Law and Business Law.
Mr. Holloway has been practicing law in Ohio since his admission to the Ohio Bar following his graduation from The University of Akron School of Law.
He practices most regularly in Erie County, Huron County, and Ottawa County.
My Story
Cordell Holloway brings a civil litigation background paired with a hands-on knowledge of finance and accounting that few attorneys carry into a courtroom.
In 2026, Cordell came to the Ohio Legal Group from having practiced as an Associate Attorney at Stafford Cruz Law Company in Cleveland, where he now handles matters from the first client meeting through trial and post-judgment practice. His work includes drafting complaints, motions, and research memoranda, as well as briefs in support of and in opposition to dispositive motions.
Cordell's path to litigation was not a direct one. Before returning to full-time law practice, he spent over two years as Marina Manager of Safe Harbor King's Point Marina in Cornelius, North Carolina, where he ran day-to-day operations, led and trained seasonal and full-time staff, and managed payroll, budgeting, and inventory.
He holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain's license and regularly assisted with chartering a 50-foot twin-engine vessel — experience that sharpened his ability to manage people, solve problems under pressure, and keep complex operations running smoothly.
Prior to that, Cordell worked as an Investment Accountant for Nuveen, TIAA's asset manager, where he helped derive returns on investments for participants' retirement and insurance accounts. He collaborated on international real estate investments with a team spanning the United States, Luxembourg, London, Singapore, and Australia. Earlier still, following law school, he worked as a Staff Accountant at Payne, Nickles, and Company in Sandusky, handling tax preparation, audits, and bookkeeping, and at Cohen & Company in Akron during his final semesters of law school.
Cordell earned his Juris Doctor from The University of Akron School of Law in 2021 and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from The University of Akron in 2017. While in law school, he volunteered with the S.E.E.D. Clinic, assisting local businesses with legal needs they could not otherwise afford, and with the Employment Clinic, helping individuals clear their records and find work after legal setbacks — gaining early experience in legal drafting, legal research, client communication, and contract interpretation.
Cordell is also a Certified Public Accountant candidate, having met the required hours for licensure. His combined background in law, accounting, and finance gives him a practical, numbers-informed perspective on litigation and case valuation.
